A llama trek? In England?? Yes, that's right, llama trekking is no longer the preserve of herdsmen in the Peruvian Andes. Llamas are perfect companions for an English country walk - affectionate, intelligent and happy to carry all your stuff! There's also something relaxing about their gentle presence, which makes a countryside trek even more pleasurable. You'll receive a warm and informative welcome in the reception room, before taking the reins of your llama and heading out on a two-hour trek. Your fluffy new friend will happily carry your rucksack and camera as you walk through beautiful English countryside, a mixture of woodland and open fairway. Each trek is guided and there will always be one llama shared between an adult and a child. There'll be plenty of great photo opportunities and afterwards you can meet the rest of the herd of 50-odd llamas. You are also welcome to picnic at the farm.

An eagle in flight is incredibly beautiful - but since eagles' natural habitats tend to be very remote, it's also very rare. With this experience you'll have the chance to get up close and personal with this deadly predator, and see their majesty and power first hand. Your experience begins with a guided tour of the bird of prey centre, where you'll see the various eagles in residence and get the chance to learn all about them. Then you'll receive expert one-to-one instruction on how to handle a bird, and find out about how they are trained. After lunch, stride out into beautiful British countryside with your instructor, where you'll fly an eagle to the glove (in Yorkshire get the chance to fly more than one type of eagle). It's an amazing opportunity to see these dramatic birds up close and watch their spellbinding flight - and there can't be many thrills to match the experience of an eagle coming in to land on your glove.
You don't need to go to the Arctic wilderness. Huskies love to run, so if the sled is on wheels then any terrain works. All you need to think about is holding on tight, these dogs don't hang around for slow boarders! But don't worry, we're not going to throw you to them (they are quite happy with their diet of meat and fish), you'll meet a husky handler who can explain what the dogs do, why and give some history of where they come from. You'll be shown how to ride the cart and control the dogs and along with your handler, will get to ride behind a team of two to four dogs through the stunning Darent Valley. Back at the centre, warm up with a hot drink and piece of cake. It may look easy, but the balance and skill required makes for some tiring mushing or hiking (terms used to run the sled). You also get a family pass for two adults and two children into the centre, which houses many fascinating creatures including displays of reptiles and birds.
Discover your inner cowboy (or cowgirl) on this great day out in the New Forest, England's answer to the Wild West (okay there's lots of trees and not many cacti, but bear with us). You'll start off with coffee, bacon rolls and a briefing from your ranch hand. Then head up to the field to meet and catch your horse, before learning how to groom and tack him up Western style. Then you'll have a Western riding lesson in the arena - it's easier to learn and feels more secure than riding English-style, so it's great even for beginners. And those cowboys had to spend all day in the saddle, so they made damn sure it was comfortable! Take a break for a barbecue lunch and then head off on the Western Trail into the forest. You'll finish up back at the ranch, to untack, rub down and feed your horse, and turn him out to pasture before you settle down to a well-earned coffee. Rawhide!
Learn the basic principles of carriage driving and finish the day with a speedy obstacle course. After a safety briefing you'll meet Charlie, Dini and the other resident characters at the stables. You'll learn the basic techniques of carriage driving and, using your new skills, negotiate a purpose-built obstacle course. After a short refreshment break, the experienced demo team will show you how much fun carriage driving can be. Have a go yourselves and get on the backstep of a carriage pulled by two of the famous Chariots ponies. Hold on tight as you race around corners and obstacles at speed! Your session ends with coffee, cakes and a rosette each to take home.
