Whether you've always fancied yourself as the next Errol Flynn, Zorro, Luke Skywalker or Madonna, our introduction to fencing will help give you a real insight into the Olympic sport of fencing. You'll start with a full safety briefing and warmup with a top international coach who will introduce you to the basics, including essential footwork. Then you'll be shown the equipment, including foil and mask and will go through a few techniques, taught to help equip you beat your opponent. You'll learn all the basics and some of the terminology (including some French!) that goes with them, such as the lunge, parry, riposte and feint. Then it's into pairs for duelling and fighting games before you put all you have learned into practise with a battle against an opposing team. Finally, you will be given a demonstration of the three different swords used in fencing (foil, epee and sabre - all used quite differently within the rules of fencing). Enjoy this unusual and fulfilling way to keep fit.

Got a head for heights, nerves of steel and a love of the great outdoors? Don't mind chilly Scottish weather or the occasional midge bite? Then head to the Highlands for a day's climbing on one of the world's classic mountaineering routes. With the services of a private guide, you'll tackle a route up either Ben Nevis or Glencoe. It will be challenging, exhausting and occasionally nerve-racking - but also uplifting, inspiring and breathtakingly beautiful. You'll be supplied with all technical equipment, and your guide will place all ropes and protection, leaving you to get on with enjoying your spectacular surroundings in complete safety. The day will combine walking, hiking and climbing as you go high into the mountain, and ends with a thorough debrief at the National Ice Climbing Centre. You'll receive a CD-Rom with photos of your day and a mug of hot chocolate, before rewarding your aching limbs with a sauna and steam.

Leave the mod-cons at home and rediscover your survival instincts with a weekend in the wild. Say hello to your fellow survivors as you sort out equipment preparation and get some initial instruction. You'll then set off together across a 500 acre site on an awareness walk using a map and compass, with training in all sorts of survival techniques - learn about edible plants, survival medicine, firelighting, skinning food (oh yes, this is proper survival), food preparation, collecting water and navigation. You'll build your own shelter - make it a good one, you'll be spending the night in it - before preparing your meal and cooking it over an open fire. Then bed down in your shelter for the night in the wilderness. Learn more survival techniques on Sunday and enjoy a survival-style Sunday lunch to wrap up your weekend.
Explore the exquisite beauty of the Arctic on a three day adventure trip, 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle. You'll start by meeting your guide for a welcome drink, before heading to Musher's lodge. There you'll be kitted out in Arctic clothes and meet your team of dogs, before a short tour of the area and dinner under the Northern Lights. Then snuggle down for the night, because in the morning you'll be dogsledding across the frozen wilderness, stopping off for lunch at a lodge next to a frozen lake. Your destination is the astonishing Ice Hotel: a chic hotel built from the ice each year, which melts away every spring. Relax in the Ice Bar, go for a sauna and then curl up in your thermal sleeping bags for a night in a bedroom made completely of ice. The experience also includes a fabulous snowmobile tour - part of everyday life up here in the Arctic but fantastic fun nonetheless! Accommodation, equipment and some meals are included. Throwing yourself out of a plane at 10,000 feet might be considered utter madness. But if close friends start wondering aloud about your sanity (or the contents of your will), you can reassure them that you'll be attached (literally) to an expert instructor and that, frankly, you're in for an experience so exhilarating that you'll probably never stop talking about it. Your experience begins with around an hour of instruction on skydiving and landing techniques, before you go up in the plane. You'll be securely harnessed to your instructor, who will help you jump from the plane (or at least help you fall with style). You'll get about 30 seconds of freefall, which is so completely incredible there's no point in us trying to describe it. Then your instructor will open the parachute and control your descent while you admire the view and try to come to terms with the adrenaline rush. Mind blowing.
