After a hard week at work is there anything better than knowing that you have a nice, relaxing weekend to look forward to? And what better way to enjoy yourself than by spending time with good friends and eating wonderful fresh and beautifully produced food. But would the idea of throwing a dinner party send you into a stress related frenzy? Does it conjure up disturbing images of pots and pans randomly thrown all over the kitchen while you stand there screaming? After you have been on this experience those images will plague you no longer. The day is tailor-made according to the overall skill level of the group but the aim is to teach you how to use the freshest seasonal ingredients, how to entertain in style and importantly how to make perfect dinner party food that allows you to relax and enjoy your evening. Enjoy the results of your hard work by sitting down to lunch, including a well deserved glass of red or white wine.
Hazlewood Castle was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, and has been the location for some spectacular feasting down the centuries. Now it's the perfect location for this great foodie experience. You'll start off with a glass of champagne, followed by a two course lunch at the fabulous Restaurant Anise (where the cooking has come on a lot since 1086). Then you'll go for a brief tour of the castle. Next it's time for some hands-on fun, with a two-hour cookery demonstration from esteemed head chef Tim Hamer. Tim started his career at the Grosvenor House hotel (previously known as Le Meridien Grosvenor House) and has several years experience working at top level. He'll show you how to prepare a variety of dishes, some classic, others with a twist. The demonstration includes a tasting session and you'll get copies of the recipes to take home. Remember to leave room for afternoon tea and cakes at Restaurant Anise at the end of your experience.
Unlike some top chefs, Anton Mosimann doesn't spend half his life on TV - but his cooking is all the better for it. He's the holder of the Royal Warrant for Catering Services to HRH the Prince of Wales, and he's been awarded an OBE. Your experience begins with a coffee and a tour of the Mosimann Academy, which Anton set up as a centre of learning and excellence in cooking. The tour will take in Anton's amazing private library, which contains over 6,000 cookery books, dating from as far back as the 15th century. Then you'll watch a cookery demonstration by a top chef, where you'll be able to pick up a few new skills, before being whisked by coach to Mosimann's, the renowned private dining club in Belgravia. Relax in the splendid surroundings of one of the private dining rooms - the building was originally used as a church in Victorian times - and enjoy a fantastic three course dinner with wine.
Indian food has come a long way from the stereotyped outings and flock wallpaper of the 70s. With Chicken Tikka now firmly crowned as the nation's favourite dish, it is clear that this vibrant cuisine has permeated our consciousness permanently. Learn how to use a fabulous fusion of traditional and contemporary cooking techniques at this impressively chic restaurant. After tea and coffee on arrival you'll be given an informative introduction to the history of Indian food by super-chef Sanjay Dwivedi (who has worked internationally and as Chef for a Rolling Stones international tour, as well as appearing on TV's Market Kitchen). In the kitchen, muck in as you learn the ins and outs of preparing a four course Indian meal, from starter through to dessert. Afterwards you'll be treated to a delectable and innovative meal complemented with selected wines and champagne. As a memento take home some menu cards, to help you replicate the memorable gastronomic creations of the day.
