A Country Pursuits Adventure Day for One
Lord about in a Land Rover, crack off a few shots with your 12 bore shotgun and dine opulently; this experience is a perfect chance to see how the other half live. Start your day with coffee, tea and bacon rolls, then receive a safety briefing and get teamed up before moving onto the action. Escorted by your highly trained instructor, your team will try the first of the activities available throughout the day, be that clay shooting on the fully equipped range, driving an open shell two-seater dune buggy, a spot of archery or getting back to nature driving a 4x4. Have a go at each of the four pursuits in turn during your memorable day in the wild. Sit down together and discuss who was best at what as you enjoy fine dining in the All Seasons restaurant where you will be sufficiently pampered with a four-course gourmet meal, before heading back out for some more japery. Conclude the experience at The Lodge with drinks at the bar and superb homemade cakes.
More Information... | Wimbledon Tour for Two
We can't all be Wimbledon champs, but with this experience you can at least get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the revered All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, following in the footsteps of tennis legends like Becker, Sampras, Navratilova and Sue Barker. You'll see the hallowed Wimbledon turf, BBC studios and press interview room (scene of many a tense moment), roof gardens, underground walkway to Court 1, the Millennium Building and the gorgeous water gardens with their amazing views over London. Lunch is served up within the Number One Court complex and then you'll explore the new state-of-the-art Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. It has interactive exhibits, including a 200-degree cinema and is packed with tennis memorabilia including the Wimbledon champions' trophies. End your day in true Wimbledon style with strawberries and champagne.
More Information... | Introduction to Polo
Polo: a game that involves hitting a small ball with a long stick whilst travelling at speed on board a vehicle with a mind of its own. Sound insane? It's time to find out for yourself, even if you're not a royal or a snake-hipped Argentinian. And even if you don't know how to ride. You'll start off being briefed on the basic rules and theory of polo by expert instructors. Then you'll have lots of time to practice ball hitting, polo riding, hooking and riding off (don't worry, all the terminology will be explained). The polo ponies are well-schooled and there will be an instructor by your side. After your training you'll change into proper polo gear and mount your horse, and then it's time to put what you've learnt into practice as you play an instructional chukka. After, you can stay and watch matches being played for the rest of the day. Fast-paced, skilful and with the fantastic sound effect of thundering hooves, polo is a great sport to play and to watch.
