Wine is a glorious gift from the gods, but if you can't tell your Pinot Noir from a Pinot Plonk, why not treat yourself and a partner to a delightful weekend of informative indulgence? After travelling to Bordeaux at your leisure (travel not included) check into your centrally located and delightfully family run 18th century hotel, your base for the following three nights. The first evening to ease you into the heady world of French wine, your expert wine guide will host a wine tasting giving a fascinating insight into the wines and region of Bordeaux. After breakfast (included every morning), be whisked away to have your first of two chateaux visits, this time to the Medoc famous for the quality of their wines, before retiring to the hotel. The second day begins where you left off with another chateau, this time on the right bank with more fabulously sumptuous wines. By breakfast and check out on the third morning you will be awash with a new found vigour for wine. C'est magnifique!
Are you someone who can't walk past a jewellers without stopping to admire the gorgeous pieces displayed in the window? Emeralds, rubies, sapphires... and top of the list, a girl's best friend - the sparkle and shine of a diamond. But have you ever wondered what goes into creating such beautiful pieces? With this experience you'll get the opportunity to watch master craftsmen in their working environment and learn about the clarity and colour of different stones. With your new-found knowledge, you'll each choose your own 0.12ct diamond and a 9ct yellow or white gold band to create your own diamond ring. You'll take part in the whole journey, from bending and soldering to filing and buffing. There'll even be the chance to have your rings engraved before the diamonds are set and they receive a final finish. Your finished rings will have an approximate financial value of £250, but these unique pieces are, of course, priceless! Breakfast, lunch, soft drinks and all materials are included.
