Whisky has a certain mystique surrounding it (which is a nice way of saying that lots of people get very pretentious about it) but if you enjoy a wee dram now and then and you want to learn a bit more without drowning in jargon, then this is the experience for you. You'll taste six excellent whiskies in turn, guided by your experienced host, who'll help you discover and appreciate the diversity of whisky and the different characters of different types. You'll also receive a whisky companion book to take home. Additionally you will be issued with vouchers (valid up to six months) to allow you to come back another day and explore Vinopolis at your own pace. It's a whole centre dedicated to the world of wine and classic drinks, with lots to learn and lots more to taste - you'll taste five excellent wines on your return and a Bombay Sapphire cocktail. All in all a very pleasant way to spend a day.

You know you like wine, but you're not sure how to tell a good one from a bad. Is it corked? Is it a bad year? Which wine will impress your friends, Chateauneuf du Pape or Asti Spumante? Well, stop worrying. Wine should be a pleasure, not a dinner party anxiety, and with this fun experience you can learn to quaff with confidence while enjoying an educational quiz. Our wine experts have hosted 1,400 tasting shows in 39 countries, so they know their stuff. They can help you differentiate good wines from bad, find fabulous bargains and avoid problem wines. Have fun tasting a variety of reds and whites, learn how to match them with food and work in teams to identify wines in the blind tasting challenge. After your tasting, relax over dinner and then retire for the night (subject to availability you will be housed either in a room in the main house or in accommodation next to it). Wake up to a full English breakfast the following morning to round off your experience.
Unlike some top chefs, Anton Mosimann doesn't spend half his life on TV - but his cooking is all the better for it. He's the holder of the Royal Warrant for Catering Services to HRH the Prince of Wales, and he's been awarded an OBE. Your experience begins with a coffee and a tour of the Mosimann Academy, which Anton set up as a centre of learning and excellence in cooking. The tour will take in Anton's amazing private library, which contains over 6,000 cookery books, dating from as far back as the 15th century. Then you'll watch a cookery demonstration by a top chef, where you'll be able to pick up a few new skills, before being whisked by coach to Mosimann's, the renowned private dining club in Belgravia. Relax in the splendid surroundings of one of the private dining rooms - the building was originally used as a church in Victorian times - and enjoy a fantastic three course dinner with wine.
Sushi is fresh, healthy, tasty and trendy. But hardly anyone tries to make it at home - because surely something which looks and tastes so beautiful must really be difficult to create? Not so. With this experience you'll learn a lot - all about the different types of sushi, fish, rice and vegetable ingredients, as well as tips on how to make it yourself at home. It's run by the experts at YO! Sushi, who enjoy what they do and help make your experience great fun. Your class will start off with a talk on the history of sushi before watching a demonstration by a top YO! chef. Then it's your turn to try it for yourself, preparing three different types of sushi, with the expert advice and help of the chef who remains on hand should you need assistance. You'll learn and then enjoy a special YO! bento box (because you're bound to be hungry with all the sumptuous food around). You'll even take home a sushi rolling mat - essential for your new hobby as a home sushi chef!
Hazlewood Castle was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, and has been the location for some spectacular feasting down the centuries. Now it's the perfect location for this great foodie experience. You'll start off with a glass of champagne, followed by a two course lunch at the fabulous Restaurant Anise (where the cooking has come on a lot since 1086). Then you'll go for a brief tour of the castle. Next it's time for some hands-on fun, with a two-hour cookery demonstration from esteemed head chef Tim Hamer. Tim started his career at the Grosvenor House hotel (previously known as Le Meridien Grosvenor House) and has several years experience working at top level. He'll show you how to prepare a variety of dishes, some classic, others with a twist. The demonstration includes a tasting session and you'll get copies of the recipes to take home. Remember to leave room for afternoon tea and cakes at Restaurant Anise at the end of your experience.
